Dr. Coulson joined the Bay Beach family in 2020. She enjoys the fast-paced caseload in an emergency setting and helping clients and their fur babies during stressful periods. Her medical interests include soft tissue surgery and nutrition. Outside of work, Dr. Coulson enjoys traveling, going to the beach, wine, and spending time with her husband Sean (an F18 pilot) and their two daughters. She has two dogs: Jedi, a perfect mixed breed, and Wrigley, a crazy red Lab, and a sassy black cat, Arya.
Dr. Mueller was born and raised in the Washington, DC Metro area in a home with many different types of pets, fostering a strong passion for animals from a very young age. She received her BS degree from Old Dominion University. To pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian, she then moved to the United Kingdom to attend the University of Glasgow in Scotland, graduating in 2011. Dr. Mueller continued her veterinary training by completing a one-year internal medicine and emergency/critical care internship. Dr. Mueller found her passion in emergency veterinary medicine and the Hampton Roads area, and joined the Bay Beach team in March of 2016.
Outside of work, Dr. Mueller enjoys spending time at the beach, visiting friends and family throughout Virginia, going to concerts, and enjoying some retail therapy. She and her husband spend most of their time being pet parents to three goofy and lovable French Mastiffs—Vera, Morty, and Morticia—and three incorrigible cats—Bowie, Dita, and Simba.
Dr. Tara Gleysteen was born in Baltimore, MD, and grew up in Milford, DE. As a young child, she developed a love for all animals, the beach, and the Orioles. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Delaware and then attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated in 2021 and then completed a year-long emergency and specialty rotating internship at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA.
After working in emergency medicine for a year in Wilmington, NC, she decided to relocate to Virginia to be closer to family. She enjoys all aspects of emergency medicine and especially loves to treat critical illnesses in kittens and puppies and cases of toxicities. Dr. Gleysteen moved to Virginia Beach with her fiancé, Evan, and their adored Cavalier mix, Howie. In her free time, she loves to garden, visit family and friends, spend time at the beach, and seek out the best oysters in town. She is excited to help and get to know the pets and pet parents of Virginia Beach.
Dr. Hannah Dollar completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, in 2008. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, CA, in 2012. After graduation, she commissioned into the US Army Veterinary Corps and spent 12 years on Active Duty before transitioning into the Reserves. Dr. Dollar became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine in 2017 and completed a Master’s in Public Health at the University of Texas, Austin, in 2019.
Dr. Dollar joined the Bay Beach team in the summer of 2023. She enjoys all aspects of emergency medicine, including the variety of cases that are seen on a day-to-day basis. Outside of work, Dr. Dollar enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeremy, and their two daughters, Eliza and Charlotte.
A native of Northern Virginia, Dr. Knapp has always been passionate about animals and advocating for their well-being, so becoming a veterinarian was a natural fit. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal and Poultry Sciences from Virginia Tech and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Midwestern University. Dr. Knapp is a strong advocate of preventive medicine, nutrition, and preventing obesity in pets. She enjoys getting to know her clients and their pets as well as educating people about their animals’ health care. She has a special interest in neurology and dermatology and is USDA-certified. Dr. Knapp shares her home with a Greyhound named Kree and a cat named Tasha. In her free time, she enjoys late-night walks with her dog and exploring Virginia Beach with her family.
